What We Believe
What We Preach
We exist because of the Gospel—the “Good News” that came from God and has been proclaimed by his people throughout generations. The good news, though, begins with rather difficult news.
The Bible teaches that everyone deserves death because of sin (Romans 6:23). We have rebelled against God, shunned His authority, and the consequence is death. All have sinned, therefore all will die (Romans 3:23).
But God in his mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the world. Jesus was fully God and fully man—the perfect mediator between God and humanity. Though he was without sin, He was crucified, thereby paying our penalty for sin (1 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus died in our place, as our substitute, for the forgiveness of sin.
Although Jesus was crucified and was buried, death was not victorious. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death and defeating sin!
Through Jesus, God invites us to enjoy this “good news.” For all who repent of their sin and trust Jesus as the Christ, God forgives their sin and guarantees eternal life. Additionally, for all who believe, God promises the presence and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
We gather weekly as a church to worship because God is worthy of our devotion, honor, and love. We read, study, and meditate on the Bible because we believe it’s the Word of God. We strive to love our neighbor and show abundant grace because we’ve been shown grace in Christ. Our ultimate goal is to share the love of Christ with the world because He’s the only way to heaven and eternal life.
